Logie Danson
Ernest Denny Logie Danson was an Anglican bishop in the first half of the 20th century.〔(National archives )〕
He was born into a distinguished clerical family〔His father was the Very Rev. J. M. Danson, Dean of Aberdeen and Orkney “Who was Who” 1897-2007 London, A & C Black, 2007 ISBN 978-0-19-954087-7〕 on 14 June 1880 and educated at Trinity College, Glenalmond and Aberdeen University. He was ordained in 1906 and began his career with a curacy at St Paul's Cathedral, Dundee.〔”Scottish Episcopal Clergy, 1689-2000” Bertie, D.M: Edinburgh T & T Clark ISBN 0-567-08746-8〕 From 1906 he was a Missionary Priest in Southeast Asia eventually becoming Bishop of Labuan and Sarawak.〔(Bishops of Labuan and Sarawak )〕 He then returned to England as a Canon Residentiary at Carlisle Cathedral〔Crockford's Clerical Directory1940-41 Oxford, OUP,1941〕 before being appointed Provost of St Mary's Cathedral, Edinburgh.
